With more than twenty years of state and local government relations and political campaign consulting experience, Matt is skilled at developing strategies to achieve complex overall results managing multiple concurrent efforts, along parallel tracks and timelines. Matt has led client strategy, funding acquisition, increment planning, and communications strategy development at both the state and local levels.

Over the course of his career, Matt has managed and participated in numerous statewide, legislative, local and issue campaigns in Florida.  His expertise has led to the election of a multitude of city and county elected officials throughout the Tampa Bay region, including county commissioners, city council members, and sheriffs, as well as Florida House and Senate members.

Matt began his career as campaign manager for a State Senate campaign. Following the campaign, he served four years as Legislative Assistant to Senator John Grant, where he directed policy, drafted bills and amendments, presented legislation, and oversaw the day-to-day operations of a busy legislative office. Matthew was subsequently hired as Political Director for a successful statewide constitutional referendum campaign, then served as Executive Director for a statewide grassroots organization promoting Florida’s agricultural industry.

Matt serves as in several board leadership roles at The Florida Aquarium, including as Chairman of the Audit Committee, and a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee and Board of Directors. He serves as a member of the Feeding Tampa Bay Development Committee.  Matt was born in Florida, raised in Tampa, and attended the University of South Florida. He and his wife, Tracey, have four children, Caleb, Abigail, Joshua and Ellie and are active members of Idlewild Baptist Church.
